2019 Year in Review

I gave myself a few months to process a fantastic 2019. The fishing year was a great success. The lodges did a good job. A few fish cooperated. My overall knowledge of chasing pike and trout greatly improved.

Rating the lodges I fished in 2019 on a scale of 1-10

Dunlops Lodge

Price $2395 plus $600 flight to Thompson and $600 flight to Winnipeg

Taltson Big Pike Bay

Price $4200 plus $600 flight to Yellowknife

Echoing Lake Camp

Price $2500 drove from Chicago 13.5 hours

The fishing at Taltson was far away the best fishing for one species I have ever seen. The big pike fishing is truly world class. The lodging at Echoing wins by a tiny bit thanks to the newer lodge and cleaner neater accommodations. The satellite TV didn’t hurt either. A special call out to Dunlops for the super fun evening bite near the lodge. The food was very good as well.

All three lodges offer something a little different but I recommend all three.
